ESET Ranks No. 379 on the 2009 Inc. 500 with Three-Year Sales Growth of 667.4 Percent

SAN DIEGO August 13, 2009 - ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that Inc. Magazine has ranked it among the fastest-growing private companies for the third consecutive year. Distinguished as No. 379 among the top 500 organizations, ESET grew at an impressive rate of 667.4 percent, ranking eighth among the top security companies and 11 in the top 50 businesses in San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos, Calif. area.

“Being acknowledged by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies is further testament to our continued leadership in the security market,” said Anton Zajac, president and CEO of ESET, LLC. “We attribute our continued success to our loyal customers, product quality and employee dedication.”

ESET develops software solutions that deliver instant, comprehensive protection against evolving computer security threats. ESET Smart Security, an integrated antivirus, antispyware, antispam and personal firewall solution, was named CNET “Editors’ Choice” in April 2009 and finished first among its peers in a leading consumer publication in June 2009. ESET NOD32 Antivirus consistently achieves the highest accolades in all types of comparative testing, including 57 VB100 awards, which is the most in the industry. ESET products are available in more than 160 countries and are represented by an extensive global partner network.

“If you want to know which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500,” said Inc. editor Jane Berentson. “These are the most dynamic, fast-growth companies in the nation, the ones finding innovative solutions to problems, creating smart systems, and inventing products we soon discover we can't live without. The Inc. 500 list is Inc. Magazine’s tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition.”

Our Comment: Go ESET!
ESET Plug-in for Cisco NAC Release Candidate is now available for public testing. This phase of public testing is expected to last four weeks.

The current versions of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security have built-in interoperability with Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) to ensure endpoints on a network comply with network security policies. With the ESET Plug-in for Cisco NAC, earlier versions of ESET NOD32 Antivirus (2.7 and 3.0) and ESET Smart Security can also achieve Cisco NAC compatibility.

With Cisco NAC and ESET security software, network administrators can ensure each endpoint has the required security status before granting it access to the network, ensuring a high level of security.
Closest Competitor has 5 Awards

SAN DIEGO – June 1, 2009 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, has secured its 11th "Advanced+" rating in retrospective testing from AV-Comparatives, an independent research organization. Only two other products were awarded "Advanced+" in the latest testing, which measured proactive on-demand detection capabilities of 16 antivirus products.

AV-Comparatives provided a three-level ranking system of Standard, Advanced and Advanced+ award. To receive an "Advanced+" rating, a product must be rated with not only an excellent proactive detection rate, but also a low false positive rate.

To measure for effective detection, the products were "frozen" and measured by the same updates and signatures they had on February 9th with the highest detection settings used. Then new samples found between February 9-16th were applied to the tested products.

"ESET is the only vendor tested by AV-Comparatives that has always received the highest ranking (Advanced+) in proactive detection tests," said Andreas Clementi, founder and chief researcher for AV-Comparatives. "ESET always saw the importance and need of a strong heuristic in the fight against malware, and its impressive testing record reflects this."

ESET's industry-leading products, including the popular NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security, deliver a significant improvement over traditional solutions in the marketplace today. Powered by ThreatSense® technology, ESET's products combine speed, accuracy and minimal system impact. The advanced heuristics engine enables proactive detection of malware not covered by even the most frequently updated signature-based products. Unlike traditional approaches, ESET solutions use an emulated environment to decode and analyze executable code in real-time. By allowing malware to execute in a secure virtual world, ESET is able to clearly differentiate between benign files and even the most sophisticated and cleverly-disguised malware.

Our Comment: We are happy to provide the best virus solution available.
SAN DIEGO, September 30, 2008 — ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced it has captured a record 52nd VB100 award from Virus Bulletin, a widely-respected independent comparative testing group. The October 2008 comparative review was conducted on the Windows Server 2008 platform, showcasing ESET’s continued support for the latest Windows environments. ESET is still the only company with more than 50 VB100 awards and continues to lead the industry with the highest detection rates with zero false positives — the winning formula in malware prevention.

Virus Bulletin introduced its first VB100 award in 1998, and conducts several comparatives every year, rotating its platforms between Linux, Windows, Windows servers and Novell Netware. In order to display the VB100 logo, an antivirus product must meet two criteria: (1) Demonstrate it detects all "In-the-Wild" viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning; and, (2) Generate no false positives when scanning a set of clean files. Since the inception of VB100 awards in 1998, ESET’s antivirus products continue to boast a success rate of over 96 percent — the industry's highest. Most antivirus vendors have success ratios in the 50-75 percent range.
SAN DIEGO – February 21, 2008 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced an agreement with the SUBWAY® restaurant chain, the world’s largest submarine sandwich franchise. Under terms of the agreement, SUBWAY’s 23,000+ US/CA merchants are able to deploy ESET NOD32® Antivirus software directly on their point-of-sale (POS) terminals, protecting the computer systems from increasingly sophisticated threats.

“SUBWAY’s POS machines are mission critical to our restaurants’ successful operation, handling hundreds of transactions per day. Subway franchisees depend on the POS to work at optimum speed, moving customers quickly through the line. Therefore, it is critical that each of these machines is not hindered by malware that can slow or shut down systems,” said Marina O’Rourke, SUBWAY’s director of retail technology, who oversees testing and implementation.
ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, was named one of only two companies to capture the prestigious “Advanced+” rating from AV-Comparatives, an independent research outlet that tests antivirus software.

The “Advanced+” rating is granted to antivirus providers who proactively detect new or unknown threats, without mistakenly identifying safe files as malicious.
